This was a fly fishing pack I always wanted but didn’t exist. So I designed it myself. PLEASE NOTE: The Trico is no longer available as I’ve been unable to secure a new sewer to produce it. If you’ve got a lead on someone who will and help me put it back into production, please contact me.
Jason is an avid fly angler and backpacker. As a former fly fishing guide originally from Western New York, he moved to Colorado and became an early adopter of tenkara which perfectly suited the small, high altitude streams and lakes there. He has not fished a Western-style fly rod for trout since.
Jason you have hit a home run with this one. I can see myself using the Trico now. I love all the little details, you must have put a lot time in the design. this will prove to be the ultimate UL fishing kit weather you Tenkara fisher or a western fly fisher or just regular spin cast fisher The UL backpacking crowd will love the Trico.

I don’t have a pattern. I literally drew a picture of it on a piece of paper and sent it off to a sewer and they made it for me. I’m sure you could reverse engineer it just by looking at it though. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
I understand that the Trico Ultralight Fly Fishing pack is not in production, but would much appreciate a note when they’re back in production and/or a lead to where I might find one, new or used. Thanks.
Hi Ron, sorry, I have no plans to produce them again. I tried many years ago to relaunch them but all the sewers I talked to said it was too complicated to be done at a reasonable price. Have you seen the Yonah Tenkara pack? It’s what I carry now and I think it’s better than my design.
