I thought it would be fun to try an informal Google + Hangout to talk tenkara.
I’d like to do a preliminary one just to see how it goes, and then maybe make it a regularly scheduled event where tenkara anglers across the US (or globe) can get together and have regular live video chats and share ideas. It could be a fun way to leverage new social media and better connect with each other about our shared passion. Personally, I’d love to put a face and voice to some of the names out there in the tenkara community!
For this first one, I don’t really have an agenda but if it takes off, I might schedule future hangouts with specific topics like “level vs. furled lines”, “sakasa kebari tying tips”, etc. Don’t know where this is going to go yet but we’ll see. For now, just consider it an “anything goes” tenkara conversation as if we were all sitting in a bar together casually talking shop.
When is it?

What you need to participate
You’ll need to have a Google + account and meet these basic requirements. You also need to add the TenkaraTalk Google + page to your circles. Once you add Tenkara Talk to your circles, I will add you to mine and that will create the invite list.
How do you join the hangout?
Be logged in to Google + at the specified time. I will invite everyone in my tenkara circle to the hangout. You should see the invite in your stream but you could be notified other ways as well depending on what you’re logged into.
Right now Google + only allows ten people to be on the video chat at a time. Including yours truly, that means only nine other people will be able to join. So, unfortunately, it’s first come, first served. But if you don’t get in on this one, don’t worry. There will be more coming soon.
I hope you can make it to the first ever Google + tenkara hangout and I’m excited to video chat with you about tenkara!
Will you be able to make it?
