I’m excited to tell you that Daniel will be giving an on-stream tenkara presentation in RMNP and you’re invited! This is a great opportunity for anyone in Colorado who is interested in tenkara fly fishing to learn from a master, get your questions answered, and try out some cool tenkara gear!
Here are the details…
What: An on-stream tenkara demonstration and Q/A session with Tenkara USA founder Daniel Galhardo followed by an afternoon of fishing in one of Colorado’s premier fishing fly fishing destinations.
Where: Rocky Mountain National Park (stream to be determined)
When: Saturday, October 22nd at 9:00 a.m.
Meetup: We will meet at the Fall River Visitor center on Route 34 just outside of Estes Park at 9:00 a.m. and then drive to the stream at 9:30 a.m. sharp. Don’t be late! After Daniel’s demo (maybe 12:00 or 1:00) everyone is free to spend the rest of the day fishing in the park.
Cost: This event is free, but you will have to pay to get into the park if you don’t already have a pass. Also, make sure you have a valid Colorado fishing license before you get there.
What to bring: While we’ll have a variety of Tenkara USA rods and lines for you to try out, feel free to bring your favorite tenkara rod, flies, and lines if you plan on fishing on your own after the demo. Don’t forget the usual Rocky Mountain required gear such as a rain jacket, insulation, water, energy bars, sunscreen, etc. Remember that Colorado weather can be especially unpredictable this time of year so it’s best to be prepared. You might also want to bring a lunch so you don’t have to go back into Estes Park in between the demo and afternoon fishing.
Will you be able to attend?
